and Japanese culture and Japanese filmmakers globally.

The first year of the Arizona Japanese Film Festival brings the best of a broad selection of Japanese cinema to Arizona to draw greater recognition of filmmakers and strengthen the ties between Arizona and Japan. By showing Japanese films, we aim to support and deepen the understanding of our cultures through the love and joy of movies.

All films that participate in the Festival will have a unique chance to showcase their Japanese films to Arizona through the exposure and media attention we will create at this festival.

The Arizona Japanese Film Festival is organized by the Japanese Culture Club of Arizona (JCCA), 

a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization.

Our festival is supported by patrons from the BOOKOFF, Japanese communities, JBAA (Japanese Business Association of Arizona), Japanese Culture Club of Arizona, and Japan Foundation Los Angeles, and it focuses on people who love cinema, especially foreign and independent films.

Japanese Film Festival of Arizona 2024 is open to films made after 2017.
All films must be in English or Japanese and subtitled. (Japanese language films must be subtitled in English, and English language films must be subtitled in Japanese.)   All lengths and genres will be considered.
